More Millers Tales - from the Speciality Restaurant of the Year 2009

Millers, which recently opened a new coffee shop in Borrowdale, must be very proud of its dual wins, named Speciality Restaurant of the Year and also winning Wine List of the Year Award for the second time.  The Millers Wine list offers a most impressive and varied array of wines, cognacs and liqueurs, and caters for every taste, and at reasonable prices.  Furthermore, diners at Millers report that the list isn't just boasting, the establishment really does carry stocks of absolutely everything on offer!  With three of the Millers staff attracting sufficient attention through their excellent approaches to customer care, to be nominated by members of the review team, amongst a total of seven nominees, for the Service Personality of the Year Award (John Jeye, Byron Brewer and Tendayi Chimuka), Millers has really shone in the 2009 awards.

Various tales of good dining experiences were told at the judging session during the course of the lengthy debate on who should win this category.  One person described taking a business party to the restaurant which, it turned out, included a strict vegan.  Did this present a problem at Millers?  No.  They pulled out the stops immediately and whipped up a special vegan meal for this diner - which he declared to be excellent.  This, at a steak house, showed seriously good customer focused service orientation.  Another judge described how their Millers waiter took to heart, the disappointment he overheard their table expressing about the absence of a cheeseboard on the menu, at the end of a long drawn out meal they had clearly been much enjoying, and felt like extending yet further.  Within seconds the manager on duty appeared at the table, telling them that although there was indeed no cheeseboard on the menu, one could be made up specially for them - and so it was.

Neither of these (amongst other) Millers Tales, involved reviewers actually on duty, they happened to be out to dinner with friends at Millers, but these anecdotes stuck in the minds of those who experienced this cut-above service.  And this is how memorable dining experiences are made!  Millers has attained a Five Plate Rating for three consecutive years and can be very proud of their 2009 awards.

Millers Grill named Speciality Restaurant of the Year 2009, wins Wine List of Year again
In 2008, the popular Millers Grill at Ballantyne Park shops in Harare, won the Wine List of the Year award.  At the Awards Ceremony, Angela Miller was overheard declaring her determination to win more than this, in 2009.  Evidently, her resolve paid off!  In a very close contest with a number of excellent contenders, and after another very long debate by the judges, Millers, as a speciality steak house, was named the Speciality Restaurant of the Year for 2009.  Not just this, though.  Millers has also won Wine List of the Year for a second consecutive year.  In addition, three Millers service personnel were selected as contenders for the Service Personality of the Year Award 2009, quite an achievement for one restaurant.
